Mum just got one, and....
It has a TPMS reset button. That is brilliance right there. The 2.0 TDI is actually really cool too. Less power than Dad's bone stock Focus (103kw vs 110kw) but that 300nm of torque really gives it a lot of go.

They should have a PMS reset button on all women. Sexist jokes aside, I'm sure I would like these things more if driving behind them was not like being behind a bus, that really my only complaint about the proliferation of SUVs (and things like that).

Also awesome - isn't it basically an Audi Q3 but for less money?

I think so, however unfortunately ours was a just-above-base 2010 model, so no bluetooth or leather. Everything else though, including fancy multi-ball towbar, higher spec steering wheel and full dash computer.

As far as I can tell, the Tiguan is actually really good at not being a huge object in your field of view. It's about as long as a 2006 Focus hatch, about 70mm skinnier and only a little bit taller. So it's more of a large-ish hatchback with a lift, 4wd and 300Nm of torque.

How it drives is what matters the most. If you like how it drives then it's a hell of a deal!

Can we just call it the Tijuana? Because that's how I've been reading it for the past ever.

I suppose my own Focus is hardly the smallest car on the road.

Well I was just using Dad's car as a unit of measurement. The 06 Focus is 1840mm wide, 4342mm long, and 1497mm high. The tiguan is 1809mm wide, (so i was a bit out by my 70mm guess) 4427mm long and 1686mm high. That isn't too bad methinks.
